The Dazzlers recently returned from Universal
Dance Association (UDA) summer camp. This camp is one of the first
experiences they have as a team away from school. Their persistence
in practice and teamwork throughout the week paid off, as they were
successful in their experience.
Dazzlers won 1st place in Home
Routine, as well as a Superior trophy for their Individual
Evaluations. They won 56 Blue Ribbons during Individual
Evaluations.
The Superior trophy and placement in Home
Routine qualified them for the National Dance Team Championship at
Disney’s Wide World of Sports in February 2009.
The Dazzlers also won the UDA Leadership Award,
which was voted on by the other teams participating at camp.
Katelyn Price and Alexis Wilkinson were named
UDA All-Stars, which qualifies them to participate in the Paris New
Years’ Parade. Sarah Johnson was named Drill Down Queen for the
week.
The Dazzlers coach, Kellianne Pate, was also
awarded with the Most Valuable Coach plaque. Overall, it was a very
successful start to the season. Dazzlers are now looking forward to
band season.
